GroupSnap vs Wedibox, GuestCam and GuestPix
An honest comparison, including the parts where GroupSnap loses.
The short version. These tools all solve the same problem — the photos from your event are scattered across forty phones — and they nearly all solve it the same way: a QR code, a web gallery, no guest accounts. Where they differ is what the free tier caps and what you pay. Everyone else caps uploads at around 50 and then charges $29–$97 per event. GroupSnap caps people at 9, leaves photos unlimited, and charges $0.99.

Where GroupSnap is genuinely better
It is roughly 30 to 100 times cheaper
$0.99 against $29–$97. That is not a discount, it is a different business: the others sell a wedding package, GroupSnap sells a shared roll. If you want the package, buy the package.
The free tier is useful on its own
Nine people with unlimited photos covers a family trip, a birthday dinner, a sheva brachos, a hiking weekend — the small events nobody would pay $49 for and which therefore end up in a group chat that squashes every photo. A 50-upload cap runs out in one evening; nine people does not.
An album does not have to end
Every other tool here is built around one event with a countdown on it. A GroupSnap album can be set to never expire, so "the cousins" or "the grandchildren" can be a roll that just keeps going. You can also be in many albums at once, which the per-event products are not shaped for.
Sharp copies, a real camera, and the album is yours to take
Photos go up at 2400px on the long edge rather than as the squashed thumbnails a group chat hands back — plenty to print — and the whole album can be saved to Photos or exported as a .zip at no charge, which on the other tools is what the paid plan is for. The the iPhone app has its own multi-shot camera, so you shoot straight into the album instead of shooting, leaving, and uploading.
Where GroupSnap loses
These are real, and they are the reasons to buy something else.
- No wedding extras. No RSVP, no seating chart, no wedding website, no audio guestbook, no live slideshow on the venue screen. Wedibox and GuestCam sell those in the same box.
- No branding or themes. The gallery looks like GroupSnap, not like your wedding.
- No retention promise. The others state how long they keep your photos. GroupSnap keeps them while the album is open, but publishes no contractual term — so do not treat it as the only copy of anything.
- The iPhone app is still in TestFlight. It is not on the App Store yet, so installing it takes Apple's TestFlight app first. The browser client needs nothing, and that is the honest way in for guests today.
- Nobody has run a real wedding on it yet. As of 4 September 2026 the only albums that exist are the developer's own tests. The others have run thousands of events. If you need something proven this weekend, that matters more than any feature in the table.
How to choose
- A wedding, and you want one product to run the whole day — Wedibox or GuestCam. The RSVP, guestbook and slideshow are worth the $49.
- A wedding, and you only want the photos — try GroupSnap free, and pay $0.99 when the tenth person joins. Keep a backup elsewhere.
- A small event: trip, birthday, dinner, a group of cousins — GroupSnap, free, and probably forever.
- You must hand someone every photo in one download — all of these do it, including GroupSnap, which does not charge for it.
